  1. Day 1 - Nuremberg

    Welcome to Nuremberg, you will be met by an Emerald Waterways representative and transferred to your contemporary Emerald Waterways Star-Ship, where your friendly captain and crew will be waiting for you.

  2. Day 2 - Regensburg

    This morning, relax as you cruise down the Main-Danube Canal.
    Welcome to Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities. Enjoy a guided tour of the city, visiting the Old Town Hall complex and Porta Praetoria, an ancient stone building that can be dated back to 179 AD.

  3. Day 3 - Passau – Linz

    Today’s cruising will take you to the heart of Passau, where three of Europe’s main rivers converge in the shadows of the castle. Your guided tour of this illustrious city will unveil how it was rebuilt following fires in the 17th century. Italian architects left their mark with a scattering of Baroque architecture, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
    Enjoy exploring the city before returning to your Star-Ship for lunch and an afternoon of sailing along the Danube River.

  4. Day 4 - Melk – Dürnstein

    Your included tour will take you to Melk Abbey, famous for its invaluable library. This afternoon, enjoy a guided bike tour from Melk to Dürnstein. Alternatively, cruise through the wine region and on to Dürnstein, embarking on a guided hike to Dürnstein Castle when you arrive.

  5. Day 5 - Vienna

    Welcome to Vienna. The “City of Dreams” was home to the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. Today, you can explore the capital with a drive along the magnificent Ringstrasse and a walking tour of the city. Soak in the opulent façades of the Vienna State Opera and City Hall before admiring the multi-coloured tiled roof of St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
    Alternatively, embark on a guided cycling tour from where your Star-Ship is docked to the idyllic Danube Island, before finishing in Prater, underneath the giant Ferris wheel.

  6. Day 6 - Bratislava

    Enjoy a guided walking tour of the beautifully restored historic quarter, venturing down winding cobbled streets and passing a number of architectural highlights, including the neo-Renaissance Slovak National Theatre and the Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. Alternatively, hike to Bratislava Castle and discover how it was destroyed by Napoleon’s troops during the 19th century.
    Gain a thorough understanding of Slovakian culture this afternoon as you meet a local family for coffee and cake. This evening, we welcome you to the Gala Dinner.

  7. Day 7 - Budapest

    Offering an abundance of European history, Budapest is known for its charming neo-Gothic architecture, cultural whimsy and historic monuments around every corner. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed city offers many links to the past, including the remains of the Roman city of Aquincum.
    Enjoy a guided coach tour, starting at the Citadella that sits on top of Gellért Hill, overlooking the Danube. Relax as a drive down Andrássy Avenue showcases the decorative façades of neo-Renaissance townhouses and journey to Heroes’ Square to see the seven chieftains of the Magyars.
    Alternatively, hike to Buda Hill, gazing up at the Buda Castle complex and admiring the Habsburg monuments that adorn the streets. This evening, a traditional Hungarian folklore show is sure to delight, as is a postcard-worthy night-time cruise along the Danube.

  8. Day 8 - Budapest – Moscow

    After breakfast, it is time to farewell your fellow passengers and disembark the ship for your transfer to the airport for your flight to Moscow, where you will board the MS Rossia (flight not included). The city’s architecture is a reflection of its 860 year old history with many reminders of both its imperial and Soviet past.

  9. Day 9 - Moscow

    After breakfast you will have a city tour where you will experience Moscow’s main highlights, including the sights of the Red Square, where you can see the brightly colored St. Basil’ Cathedral from the outside, sights of the Lenin Masoleum and the State Historial Museum. In the afternoon, you will visit the Cosmonaut museum.

  10. Day 10 - Moscow

    Today we have one of the biggest highlights to your tour, a visit to the Kremlin Grounds. For many people the symbol of Moscow and indeed Russia, the Kremlin is the former seat of the Russian Government and a unique historical, architectural and artistic reserve. During a stroll around the Kremlin Grounds you will see the majestic Cathedral Square which still retains its original form. Then, you will have tour of the State Armoury, which houses priceless weaponry, jewels and royal artefacts. Tonight your Captain is delighted to host a welcome cocktail with sparkling wine.

  11. Day 11 - Uglich

    Your day starts with a visit to Uglich, one of most beloved towns in Old Russia, which is part of the Golden Ring around Moscow. Throughout its 1000 year history, the town has been used by various Monarchs including Ivan the Terrible as a base for attacks on the Tatars and Poles. During your walking tour you will visit the renowned green-domed Cathedral of Transfiguration. Then, visit the Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood, which was built on the site where Dmitry, the youngest son of Ivan the Terrible was murdered.

  12. Day 12 - Yaroslavl

    Founded in the 11th century by Yaroslav the Wise, the ancient city of Yaroslavl retains many monuments of its noteworthy and colourful past. Your walking tour will take you through the historic center, a World Heritage Site, which is located at the confluence of the Volga and the Kotorosl Rivers. Visit the 17th century Church of St. Ilya the Prophet, an incredible structure filled with frescoes and classic Russian architecture, then wander the grounds of the 12th century Saviour-Transfiguration Monastery, one of the oldest along the Volga.

  13. Day 13 - Goritsy

    Today we arrive in Goritsy, a typical Russian village set in the most scenic countryside. Take a coach from the ship to the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. Founded in 1397, by Cyril, one of the most honoured saints in the Russian Orthodox Church, the monastery houses the Assumption Cathedral and many ancient icons, which were loved by Ivan the Terrible.

  14. Day 14 - Kizhi

    Today you will cruise Lake Onega, Europe’s second largest lake, and arrive at the small island of Kizhi. You will be taken on a walking tour through the Kizhi Architectural Ensemble, housing a collection of restored 18th century Russian wooden buildings, including the breath-taking Church of the Transfiguration. Built in 1714, the structure of the Church was built without a single nail.

  15. Day 15 - Mandrogi

    Today we visit the picturesque village of Mandrogi located on the River Svir. The charming landscape is dotted with colourful “izbas” – wooden houses with finely carved roofs and window frames. The town also offers many of opportunities for you to admire items of Russian handicrafts, such as pottery and the famous “matryioshka” dolls. You will also have free time to enjoy some of  Mandrogi’s other attractions, like the Vodka Museum, which contains thousands of different brands and types of one of Russia’s most famous exports. This evening, enjoy your farewell dinner.

  16. Day 16 - St. Petersburg

    You will sail on the Neva River into St. Petersburg early this morning. Founded by Peter the Great, St. Petersburg was the capital of the Russian Empire for more than 200 years. Nicknamed ‘Venice of the North’, the historic centre, threaded with canals dotted with baroque bridges, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your guided bus tour will take you along the Nevsky Prospect, the main boulevard of St. Petersburg. You will pass the Gostiny Dvor (St. Petersburg largest department store), the National Library and the monument to Catherine the Great, the sights of the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood, the Kazan and Saint Isaac’s Cathedral.

  17. Day 17 - St. Petersburg

    Your day will start with a visit to the Hermitage Museum. Rival to the Louvre in Paris, the Heritage Museum is one of the largest and oldest museums in the world. Formerly the Winter Palace and home of the Tsars, the museum’s collection comprises of nearly three million exhibits including the largest collection of paintings in the world and early collections dating back to Catherine II.

  18. Day 18 - St. Petersburg

    The day is yours to continue exploring the main sights and attractions of St. Petersburg or just enjoy and relax on board of MS Rossia.
